2020 Festival Coming to Endicott
The new year is upon us and we couldn't be more excited! Not only was 2019 a great success, but 2020 will prove to be even more!
The festival will move to Endicott, NY to it's new home, Cinema Saver September 18-20th.
While it is bittersweet for us to move from Norwich, the move allows us more flexibility in both our film offerings and our workshop offerings. This means filmmakers have a higher chance of getting selected and our audience will have more films and events to attend. It's a win win. We now have multiple screens that we can operate and we are so excited for the opportunity Bruce and Amber have given us at the Cinema Saver.
Thank you to Norwich for the past two years - we had incredible community support and we are thankful for the opportunity to get this festival off the ground. As we move forward, we hope Endicott plays host to us for many years to come!
Early Scheduled Events and Plans for 2020 - It's OK to be EXCITED!
Professor Jack Bryant of Ithaca College will return with a new addition of his annual screenwriter's workshop
Friday, September 18th @ 2pm
Jack Bryant will return to host a new Film Adaption workshop alongside Binghamton University professor Jeroen Gerrits. Professor Gerrits will focus on Film Adaption in a critical and theoretical approach and Professor Bryant will follow with Film Adaption in a practical approach giving all attendees of this workshop this ins and outs, the dos and don'ts of all aspects of turning a book into a film.

One of the biggest things we set out to improve was the capacity to allow our filmmakers and our guests the opportunity to network, have fun, socialize after each day's events, and really be a catalyst to allowing conversation between everyone to blossom. We also wanted to include more events for VIP pass holders. We think we're doing an OK job so far, but our work is not done! Here's what we have in store -
Stand-up Comedy with Mike Brindisi
Friday, September 18th @ 10pm
The North Brewery - 110 Washington Ave. Endicott
After the films opening day, come over to the North Brewery on Washington Ave. to enjoy laughs and brews with Mike Brindisi! Mike is part
actor, part rock star, part radio host and all
comedian! Mike has been seen on SNL, MTV2, in film
and TV and was a part of the Vans Warped Tour as
part of his band, The New York Rock. We couldn't
be more excited that he is back to comedy full-time!
Free Bowling and Live Music - Featuring Voodoo Highway
Saturday, September 19th @ 10pm
Ideal Bowling Center - 119 Jennings St. Endicott
Come for the fun and live music! VIP Pass holders will receive a free game of bowling - 50% off thereafter - and free shoe rentals. Lounge and connect with filmmakers or meet new friends at the bar and billiard while enjoying the music! It's time to Rock-N-Bowl!
Our working plan is to include:
6-8 TOTAL WORKSHOPS
120-150 FILMS minimum!
BUILD PARTNERSHIPS TO ALLOW VIP PASS HOLDERS DISCOUNTS OFF FOOD AND MERCHANDISE IN TOWN.
IMPROVE FESTIVAL INFORMATION IN LOBBY TO DETAIL WHAT EACH FILM IS ABOUT.
CELEBRITY MEET AND GREET!
Dinner Gala and Awards Ceremony! - MUCH MORE TO COME ON THIS!!!
Improving the Audience Experience
We are always looking for ways to improve our audience experience. After all, what is a film festival without an audience? One of the things that was continuously mentioned as feedback to us was the lack of information about the screening films. In the past, we had a brief synopsis of each film in our festival programs, but nothing more. This year, that changes. We heard you and we are taking action.
This year, there will be a TV screen in the main lobby of the Cinema Saver that will play (on loop) all of the available trailers for upcoming films that will be shown later that day, or the next day with when to see that film and in what theater to see it. The film and event schedule will be displayed on the screen like a "TV Guide" so to ensure you know when and where that film is playing. For films that are screening early Friday - opening day - we will show them on the TV screen in the lobby about a week in advance as well as post them on our facebook page and website. We will continue to have every film listed in our programs alongside the synopsis.
The Early Word:
Festival Passes will be made available both online AND at Cinema Saver for sale approx. in the May-June time frame. There will be a limited number of VIP and All Day Passes so stay tuned for the release of them so you don't miss out on getting one.
VIP - Good for all 3 days of the festival and grants access to every film, workshop and after event! Scores you freebies, discounts and more!
All Day - Works just like a VIP - just for only one (1) day and no freebies or discounts
Single film (or block), single workshop and two films (or blocks) are other ticket options available.
If you have any suggestions, comments or feedback, please do not hesitate to tell us! We are here for you and hope to grow and connect our community together. We can't do it without you!!
